About us

A few enthusiastic amateur dramatic performers back in the summer of 1997 thought a local theatre group, affiliated to our local church, Claines St John Baptist, would be a great way to help entertain parish members and friends. Our first production, The Hoe Down, was presented at the church hall to capacity houses, with a reprise performed at the Royal British Legion Club on Cornmeadow lane later that same year. CATS were so well received it didn't take long for the group to start production of its first pantomime - Aladdin in February 1998. The group has always looked to perform panto's each February half-term since then. We also perform a summer show, which was necessary in the early years to raise funds to enable us to stage the next panto! We celebrated our 10th anniversary in 2007 with Jack and the Beanstalk, which again was a great success.

We have tried since our formation to create fun, interesting shows using the skills of our loyal members. We hope that we have the continued support of our families and good friends in the parish, and further afield, for many years to come.
